Jörg Schoch

Attorney and notary, Dr. iur., LL.M., Partner

Jörg Schoch’s main areas of practice are the counselling of national and internally active companies in contract and commercial law and he focuses on legal assistance of small and medium size companies as external counsel in a variety of aspects relating to Swiss business law. He drafts, reviews and negotiates agreements and contracts in German, French or English and also supports his clients in relation to planning and implementation of restructuring measures or in M&A transactions. Additionally, he is active as Board member in companies doing business in various industries.

After his studies in Berne, Switzerland, and London (postgraduate studies at Queen Mary College, LL.M.), after work as legal secretary to the constitution drafting commission of his native Canton and work in a business law firm in Manhatten, New York, he was long standing partner in one of the largest law firms in Eastern Switzerland before co-founding his own law firm.

Jörg Schoch works in German, English and French. He is registered in the attorneys' and notaries' register of the Canton of St. Gallen and is a member of the Swiss and St. Gallen Bar Association.

Romuald Maier

Attorney and notary, lic. iur., LL.M., Partner

Romuald Maier advises his clients on corporate, contract, banking, inheritance, debt enforcement and bankruptcy law as well as mergers & acquisitions. He also represents his clients in court and, as a public notary of the Canton of St. Gallen, performs notarizations and certifications.

He studied at the University of Fribourg. (lic. iur. with special distinction in European Law, 2003) and holds another Master's degree in International Business Law from the University of Zurich (LL.M., 2014). Romuald Maier acquired an additional qualification in civil litigation at the University of St. Gallen / University of Lucerne (CAS, 2018). He is a founding partner of SchochMaierPartner and previously worked for several years in the legal department of an internationally active private banking and asset management group and most recently in one of the major law firms in Eastern Switzerland.

Romuald Maier works in German and English. He is registered in the attorneys' and notaries' register of the Canton of St. Gallen and is a member of the Swiss and St. Gallen Bar Association. In addition, Romuald Maier is a member of the self-regulating organisation of the Swiss Bar Association and of the Swiss Association of Notaries (SRO SAV/SNV) and thus entitled to act as a financial intermediary.

Christoph Bürgi

Attorney and notary, Dr. iur., Certified Barrister Specialist in Construction and Property law, Partner

Christoph Bürgi advises and represents clients in all aspects of private and public and construction law. Thereby, key aspects of his activities are the law relating to contracts for works and services, relating to architectural services as well as relating to legal aspects of condominum or of neighbourhood. He supports his clients in approval proceedings for construction permits, in special planning procedures or with respect to matters concerning the environment or procedures of disappropriation and appears before court and administrative bodies. Further, Christoph Bürgi is also practising as a notary public of the Canton of St. Gallen.

Christoph Bürgi was educated at the University of Zürich where he passed his doctorate. Therreafter, he gained several years of working experience with the Department for Building and Public Construction of the Canton of St. Gallen (Baudepartement) before practising as independent attorney. In 2007, he acquired the titel of Certified Barrister Specialist in Construction and Property law. He is member of the Chamber of bar certified specialist attorneys in Construction and Property law and of the Baurechtsnetz, a network of construction law specialists in Switzerland.

Christoph Bürgi works in German and English. He is registered as notary public in the Canton of St. Gallen and admitted to the bar in St. Gallen and in Switzerland and a member of the Swiss and the St. Gallen Bar Association.

Pia Blöchlinger

Assistant
